S/O Heart Family (PIPs)

Elsa mentioned the Heart Family in the BFing doll post and it took me on a trip down memory lane.  I LOVED those Barbie-wannabes!  So for those who didn't have them, or don't remember, this is what the family looked like.

 

Also, I had their house.  It wasn't exactly Barbie's Dream House, but I thought it was fantastic.  Until I fell backwards onto the corner of it and the damn cardboard roof gave me a giant papercut on my ass.  Just thought I'd share.

I had those! I didn't know they weren't "official" Barbies though. Crazy.... I feel like my childhood was a lie. Lol.

Sob story: I was born in East Germany, before the wall came down obviously. No Barbies there, and no fakes either. My mom had an illegal pen pal from Texas, and she used to send some stuff. I had a Heart Family sticker. I loved that thing. She also sent a cabbage patch doll and I remember having a few other toys.

At some point my cousin put the sticker on a mirror and then broke the damn thing I was heartbroken. Over a sticker. Yes, that is ridiculous.

I remember being shell shocked after the wall came down and I was in try first western toy store.
Anyways, just thought I'd share. I haven't even thought about the heart family in about twenty years.
