What're you getting your LO(s) for the holidays?

I feel like I am getting DD stuff all of the time because she just needs things we didn't have, and she pretty much had zero toys... so I am having to restrain myself Christmas shopping! I got her one of those alphabet/number foam playmats just to use as a surface for now (we have hardwood floors), squeezy blocks, some books, and Captain Calamari!

 

Seriously, having a reason to buy toys is awesome.

He just got wood puzzles, a race track with cars, some books, wood blocks, lego duplos, more cars... for his birthday. I have no clue what to get him for Christmas.

ETA: He also got Lincoln Logs.

I have been telling everyone who ask to get em dress up cloths and make believe toys. I love having a 2 almost 3 year old.
W gets shafted we have everything from em's first year so we don't need toys except a few car seat toys. So he gets diapers, and pants.

Probably clothes, for all 3 kids. SD is growing like a weed. DS, although in high school, is still putting a hurting on his clothes. How? You'd think, by the looks of him, that he were on the playground all day! And G will need some bigger outfits. We'll obviously have to get some toys for the little ones. Santa doesn't bring clothes, right? ;]

I got him his first ornament, a really cute bib and some adorable tether/rattles.  I don't know what DH is getting him.  From the grandparents he is getting the next size up of cloth dipes and a rug for the playroom we want to start setting up.

She is getting two books and the movie Brave. Obviously not to watch now. LOL I think my mom is getting her an exersaucer and MIL is getting her a few sleep 'n' plays and onesies.

I got DS a bath toy, Curious George DVD, The Lorax, a big soft soccer ball and 100 of the balls for a play pit (I'm gonna put them in his PNP).  We probably won't do too much more since we just had his 1st Bday and he got a lot of toys and clothes from the fam.  I just wanted some things for him to open from us.  We are more of the put $ in his savings account than buy toys kinda parents lol.  We count on the grandparents for the toys!

We are getting DD pyjamas, socks, a couple small books (one on manners and one on potty training, to introduce the idea), a set of blocks w/animals and a sled.

Captain Calamari is awesome...except for that little ball rattle thing. DD kept hitting it hard and then it would swing back and hit her in the head.  I had to cut it off.

 I keep giving LO her Christmas toys early!  She got a stacking-shape toy thing yesterday because it arrived and I couldn't resist.  

She is getting a bunch of larger sized jammies and some clothes from Osh Kosh that I couldn't resist because they were on sale, a few board books, a baby einstein kit that has books and a cd and a toy, and I'm not sure what all else.  

My aunt & uncle got her the B. Zany zoo.

Thanks for the heads up on the Captain! I also love the B. toys. I want to get her the pirate ship for the bath.

I got DS a John Deere cloth counting book, some clothes (that he will probably wear earlier!), a Christmas ornament and an activity cube that he will only be big enough for probably in the summer, but it was 50% off at Toys R Us, so I bought it anyways.  I have no idea what my parents/siblings bought him, I wanted it to be a surprise!

I bought her the original Scooby Doo DVD's (1969-1971). I hate the cartoons that are on now, and I always loved Scooby Doo.

She's also getting learning/educational toys.

BTW, she loves her Captain Calimari. It's too big to put on her car seat, so we just it to her in her bouncy seat.

That toy is adorable.  DD has a ton of rattles, teethers and soft squeeze toys, so she doesn't need many toys right now.  DH and I got her a photo album, https://www.onestepahead.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=536953&cmSource=Search and I am going to get her the Fisher Price laugh and learn piano because she loves music and I think she would love to be able to play it herself.  

I also made a wish list, since we have a bunch of family that insists on buying her stuff, so I put on it some toys she'll be able to play with as she gets older: Lamaze My First Fishbowl, Leapfrong My Pal Violet and Fisher Price story book projection soother.  I also asked for clothes in 6-9 and 9-12 months and a pair of baby legs.  And I put the My Big Animal Book and Diono Buggy Buddy stroller organizer on there too.

Captain calamari is awesome.. DS loves it!! That was one of the newborn toys I got him because he lovedddd mirrors and it has a mirror underneath.. Now he loves it to chew on the rings and such.. I agree about the little ball toy being unwise, as he does sometimes whack himself with it, but never hard enough to upset him, just upsets me lol.

i bought him a ton of stuff.. Sigh.  I am unable to resist!! He has lts of new clothes and Jammie's since he's already in 9months+ and most of what he currently has is 6-9.. He got the poppin Dino toy thing that pops balls up and spits them out.. He got a barn door that he can crawl through once he's moving, or just sit and play with.. Several other baby Einstein shape toys.. A little bouncy toy that he can sit on and bounce soon..  Tons of books.. We read to DS every night and have already read every book in is bookshelf.. DH bought him a bunch more bearnstein bears books, and I Gotham a bunch of Disney themed books.  I bought him some stuffed animals from the Disney store.. A couple v-tech toys that light up and sing songs... Ummm.. Probably more, but don't remember.. I'm n a strict "no more toys" rule for DS!! I'm contemplating putting ne or 2 away for his birthday.. We will see it's so easy to overshop for them!!

ETA: I forgot, a new Duplo set and a FP Little People tractor to go with the farm my mom bought her.  That might be it. Stocking stuffers of course, but I won't list all those out.

DS is getting clothes. I'm also planning a new sweater for him but it won't be done by Christmas .

DD will be getting some Curious George jammies, and DH found some of the old Thomas the Tank Engine books for her. She also loves "fishing" with any dangly object she can find, so I'm making her a magnetic fishing pole and fishies out of felt and (very very carefully sewn in) magnets. The fishies are coming out pretty cute.
