I was never officially diagnosed with that with my daughter, but I cramped a bunch past the 1st trimester with her and got frequent UTI's, which further caused cramping. She was born at 34 weeks when my water broke. With my son, my first born, I had none of those issues, though he was born at 36 weeks. I was on progesterone shots with my daughter and monthly vaginal ultrasounds, though I never dilated and never had to be put on bed rest, just pelvic rest and no lifting. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with avoiding some of those issues when having a third (specifically the cramping and having to restrict movement)? We are thinking about having a third baby.
I did call the specialist today, who basically said that they would proceed in the same way: by close monitoring and progesterone.
Re: Did anyone have irritable uterus?
My original OB called it irritable uterus. My new OB and the MFM said PTL. Regardless this time I did PIO and oral prometrium. I started 17p yesterday. Pelvic rest, lifting restrictions, working hours restrictions, and lots of water.
Best wishes to you!!
