My LO has been pooping on an odd schedule. Last week he went once in 2 days (small amount) then 2 days later a whole lot at once. Then this time he went 5 days before going then went a whole lot after giving sugar water.
My DS1 went constantly and I'm just not sure if this is something to be concerned about. My pedi office said some babies just go every 3 or 4 days and I might have one of those. But I thought BM was supposed to digest so much easier??
Thanks for any insight you might have!
PS - DS2 is about 10 weeks old.
Re: 2 months old- how often pooping?
Yeah we went through this. We didn't use the sugar water though. My doc is very pro bf and told us that if LO went 2 weeks without poop to then come in, but other than that. sometimes bf-ing babies just use everything you put in them, so there is no waste. The longest she went was 10 days I think.
BM is SO easy to digest, sometimes there is not a whole lot of waste, so it builds up. It's not constipation unless what comes out is dry and hard, or LO has pain passing it.
When you get to solids, I recommend a weekly dose of prunes. LO loves them and they help her out since she is one of those who hates to poop.
