Let's talk about poop

Again. Sheesh. I know its normal for lo's who are ebf to go a few days without pooping but ds hasn't gone for two and a half days and he's going through a growth spurt. So where is all that poop?? I feel like I need to prepare for a possible poop-splosion... 

As I write this lo has started grunting and farting...

Hes been storing his poop in his stomach so he could give you a little, ahem, big gift in his diaper for ya all at once.

Sorry I couldn't help it. But LO will some times hold out for a day or two and make up for it the next few days.

Poop day/poop-splosion day is every other day.  DS2 will have a shart streak here and there, but he's on a fairly predictable schedule now.  

Trust me.  It will all come out soon...

Haha, I can relate, I had the same thing happen. He was saving it up to explode on DH during Thanksgiving meal. Poor guy. It will come out, probably in a big way.

When Eli hasn't gone in 48 hours, I bust out the rectal thermometer. As soon as that sucker beeps with his temp, he farts and out comes the lava poo. Never fails.

I believe up to 5 days is normal and not constipated.  If he's not visibly uncomfortable, I wouldn't worry.  But you're right you need to worry about that poopsplosion on its way... they're not pretty!  Don't put white on him for the next day or two, lol!
