Baby Names

Baby Boy Name Poll..

Still narrowing down names and am OPEN to other suggestions but these are two that hubby and I both like... Thoughts?  We want something different but not TOO different haha.[Poll]

Re: Baby Boy Name Poll..

  • I have a cousin named Breck.
  • I might end up being in the minority, but I think Brecken is really cute! I'm not a fan of Alexander, though I prefer the nickname Xander to the full name.

  • I like Brecken, but I prefer it spelled Breckin.

  • I know - I don't care as much for Alexander as a name that we would use - we would definitely go by Xander.  The Alexander would be more so for resume purposes later on in life :)  We really like BOTH names a lot though~ it may be a hospital decision honestly, but I'm glad I can put it on here to see how others think!
  • I also almost put "breckin" on there too because I wondered how we should spell it if we did - I don't want him to be mistaken for a girl.
  • Brecken does not seem masculine to me at all so I picked Alexander.  I like the nn Alex though.

  • Alexander is on our list and I like it a thousand times more than Brecken.  I'm not the biggest fan of Xander as a nickname though, but I still like it better than Brecken.  I don't know, it just sounds harsh- like a brick, combined with the surname Beckham.  So I basically picture a brick playing soccer, lol.

That may very well be the most unique (and stunningly creative) name association I've ever heard, haha.

My son's name is Xander. Honestly, I do not think that Xander needs the Alexander behind it for resumes, it does just fine on its own.

If you don't like Alexander then don't use it, just use Xander.

    I strongly dislike Brecken.

Alexander nicknamed Alex.  I hate Zander - sorry!

Haha - it's just not some people's preference, thanks for your honesty :)

Ditto all of this. My son is Xander, the name stands on its own just fine.

  • Wow, for once I'm in the majority. Between the two, I like Alexander. Breck sounds pretentious and somewhat like a parent's overcompensating for never having made it in the entertainment industry.
