If y'all haven't been side-eying OP long before now, you haven't been paying attention.  I wish I could find the thread where she implied that her infant DD is a lesbian because she's not as girly as her DD1.

Ok, I'm back!  I don't remember this post but if it was when DD was an infant it was probably close to a yr ago. Great memory!  Was the post about would I be accepting if one of my kids is gay?  The answer is yes btw. Both girls are very girly now so if one is a homosexual they are more likely to be a lipstick lez. But who knows how they will be next yr.

It wasn't that long ago.  I actually think it was in this thread:

    https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/68391311.aspx

Your DD2 wasn't an infant at the time, just a young toddler--so, my bad.  And apparently I never posted my response before you went back and edited your post.

But I would swear that your original post went something like this:

DD1 has a huge collection - maybe 10 pairs for ea. season. She's really into fashion

DD2-we get away w/ the bare minimum 2-3 shoes (sneakers, dress up shoes) because she's not into fashion at all.  We think she's going to be a "future softball player" if you know what I mean.

Maybe you just meant that she enjoys sports, but the quotation marks gave it a different implication in my opinion.

But, hey--you edited the post--so again, I have no proof.  Just explaining why I've side-eyed you since then.

Early UO b/c I'm never online long enough Thurs to catch the thread.

UO: I think wearing a sports bra to work out in w/ no shirt is tacky. A bedazzled sports bra is even tackier.

This is common practice for female joggers in my 'hood and members at my gym.

Now for a general statement: Women who work out in sports bras only, fall into two categories: 1. Breast implants who want to show off their expensive bewbies and perma hard nips. These women usually walk on the treadmill for 10 minutes and spend the remainder of the time walking around the gym for attention. 2. Overweight women who probably want to look like #1. They have squishy bellies along with front, side and back bewbies. They also sweat a lot!

Is bellies spelled correctly? It looks funny.

I respectfully disagree. The world needs more women working out in just sports bras and yoga pants.

Its not allowed at the gym where I do yoga. But I really wouldn't care either way. Also, I love me some bedazzling. Sparkly tits? WTF not? Secondary also, I have ginormous boobs that are disproportionate to my frame. I'm asked often they are augmented, although i think the sag should be obvious. Don't assume boob job. Mine are real. And, it goes without saying but I'll say it anyway, they're spectacular.

Huh. When I did yoga all the time there used to be one guy that stripped down to what was basically a speedo. He had an amazingly fit body, so no one seemed to mind. And there were a couple ladies who had no problem showing off their yoga bodies that made going to class very worthwhile.

    Once again, scoutkate scares me.

Seriously. Is she a robot? It's like she remembers everything that was ever said on this board, ever.

Or volleyball shorts.I'm still trying to figure out why we should care if people's clothes are flattering at the gym or when working out in other ways. That seems silly.

Oh my heavens yes. Volleyball shorts are the reason I played volleyball on a coed intramural team for years.

  • As a fatty, I have many feelings on this subject.  It will probably be tl;dr & IDGAF.

I used to not be fat, but through a series of "you don't know my lyfe" events, things aren't that way now.  Even when I was thinner, I still had a hard time finding things to work out in that aI felt comfortable in.  As a chunker, it's even harder.  You know, if I could fit into the teensy tiny things that are available, I might not need to go to the gym.  FFS, it's hard enough to bounce back from a million things stacked against you, let alone be judged at the f'ucking gym.  I get looks when I go, and I notice them.  It makes me feel bad about myself, like majorly.  And even when I was thinner, I sweated like a stuck pig.  That will never change.

So, the next time you go to the gym, why not just pay attention to your goddamn magazine instead of picking people apart??  I swear to gawd that if I saw you at the gym making faces at my sweatyass because it wasn't to your liking, I'd get right up in your face & tell you to f'uck off.  You know why?  Because you have it coming AND because I easily have 60 pounds on you.  S'hits hard enough without biznitches like you making things harder.

    Good day.

Bullfuckingshiit that you weren't calling out fat people, OP.

Go ahead and try to sugar coat it all you want or say we're just misunderstandin', but this is what you said.  In your exact words.

I live in DFW. I'm probably one of these women you hate, because I do this often, especially when it's 110 degrees outside in August. Sorry.*

     *not really sorry

Oh wow, you are hard core working out in the heat. I'm a wimp and stay in the AC.  Be safe and stay hydrated.

You should be applauding any overweight person who is making the effort to work out in a gym, sports bra or not. And honestly, if you have time to look at other women in the gym and judge, you're not working out hard enough.

Agreed.  I'm too busy concentrating on my workout to act like the gym's Joan Rivers.

  • I'm bored of this thread and honestly, can't keep up with all of the responses-this is why I usually do not participate in Thursday UO.

    In summary:

    1. My UO-sports bras w/ no shirt = tacky

    2. This is a real UO-many ppl like sports bras;bedazzled too

    3. My children may or may not be homosexual. Either  way I'm accepting of their lifestyle choices and they own shoes.

4.ScoutKate side eyes me, has amazing detective skills and believes I may have referred to my child as a lesbian or sports enthusiast but lacks proof.

    5. Many ppl misread the UO and inferred their own conclusions.

    6. Sweat is natural

    7. Exercising is a great way to maintain health

    8. I still don't know if bellies is spelled correctly

    9. Many bumpies probably have ill feelings towards me. I wouldn't be surprised if someone replies 10. You forgot your a (insert name here)

@Scoutkate the side eye feeling is not mutual. In fact, I will pay you a compliment, your D is adorable in your siggy pics. I usually mobile bump.

eta:changed south to scout - I don't pay attention to sn apparently

It's okay.  I am from the South.

Also, thank you for the compliment on my siggy!

  • Man.  Late to the party, as usual.  Stupid work.

Anyhow, I don't judge anyone at the gym...ever.  You know why? Because I don't care what someone chooses to wear, why they're there, etc.  I'm usually too busy with my own workout.  I'm sure I've offended quite a few with my sports bra/running short combo.  I don't care and my stomach ain't the way it used to be.  It just gets f'ucking hot sometimes.

Also, when I see a heavier person working out, I feel good for them.  I think it's great.  They need to be encouraged, not discouraged.

Ok, for real.  No one misread your UO, so stop trying to claim you didn't say what you did say.  Just fess up that it was a stupid statement.

CinemaGoddness pointed this out clear as day, though you ignored her so here it is again:

Ok, I see what your saying in my general statement and for that I apologize. I did not convey my thought fluently. Again my apologies.

Now seriously, I have to go back to work...I'll try to ck the thread tonight.

    Yes

As a former gym member, I'll tell ya... one of the biggest reasons why I stopped going to the gym was people like the OP. I got judged no matter what I wore.
