Sleeping

For the first 2 weeks or so, I just slept in a chair.  Since then I've been sleeping in bed on my back with a few pillows to prop me up.  When were you able to sleep on your side?  I'm 4 weeks out, and was able to get on my side, with a pillow really tight against my stomach, but it's a lot of work to get in that position in the first place.  I'm just too scared to move around that much.  I can't wait till I can curl up in a ball again to sleep!

Re: Sleeping

  • I slept on my side right away when I got home from the hospital. I did sleep with a pillow under my belly for a couple of weeks.  At 5 weeks I was able to sleep on my stomach for a short period of time.

I sat on the edge of the bed and then laid down onto my side.  Rolling over to the other side was difficult for a little more than a week.

  • I had my body pillow in the hospital and used that to make side-sleeping more comfy. I had to have a pillow to prop up my belly or it just felt weird. I healed pretty quickly, though.

  • I slept on my back in the hospital surrounded by pillows (I was so comfy there!!) At home, I couldn't get comfy any other way but on my left side and hugging my body pillow.

I still sleep with the body pillow, not because I have to, but I guess I just got so used to it when I was pregnant that I can't get comfy without it!!  I miss my cute big ol' belly!

  • I think I started maybe between 4-6 weeks. Every time I would lay on my side it felt like my insides were going to that side!
