Preemies

Finally made it on the growth chart!

Adalyn recently had her 9 month appointment, and we are FINALLY on the growth chart! Granted, she's on the 2nd percentile, but this is the first appointment when she's actually made it.  My pediatrician doesn't adjust for prematurity for the growth chart and instead just charts it.  She's never been worried because Adalyn is on her own curve and doing well, but we're just happy that she's finally on it. :)

She is 14 pounds 5 ounces and 24.4 inches long.  We've been doing half of her feedings with Neosure and the other half with Similac Advance.  I asked if we could stop the Neosure.  The pedi spoke with Nutrition, and they said that we could concentrate the Similac Advance (3 scoops for 5 ounces) so that she gets the 22 calories per ounce and that we could stop the Neosure! That will be better on my pocketbook.

She also finally got her flu shot (the pedi's office had not been able to get it in until the day before her appointment), her monthly synagis, and her last Hib. She actually wasn't that fussy afterwards or get any type of fever, for which I was thankful for.

We don't go back until her 12-month appointment in February (except for the monthly Synagis shots) and the pedi said that she was very pleased with her progress and development.  Overall, a GREAT appointment!
