Hi,
Well, I found out last night (11PM) I'm pregnant, I'll be a first time mom and wife. My husband and I got married in September, we moved away from home in Jan because he is in the Navy.
I called my mom, scared, and happy. She will be a grandma for the first time, and she too can't really enjoy this because she is so far away. Yes, she can fly and see me, but it isn't the same thing.
I'm happy, but freaking out at the same time. We really weren't expecting to have a baby any time soon, and I don't know how we are going to afford it.
I just wanted to write a quick hello, still getting use to all of this; I don't even know where to start haha!

Can I be the first to say hello?
I know what it's like to have your mom so far away. I lived in the US when my daughter was born and not having my family around was really hard on me. This time round, I'm living by my family so I'm hoping that it's going to be easier.
A little tip? The Internet is your friend. Set up Skype with your parents, do a lot of video calls, take lots of photos- even write letters, as they're more personal than emails.
As for the not being able to afford it? I was broke the first time round too, and it was hard. But the way I found was the best way was to make everything from scratch. Baby food, breastfeeding, learn to sew and make baby clothes. Also, learning all this stuff is a good way to make the nine months pass without being utterly bored. Believe me, when you're 7 months pregnant and you feel like the size of a hippo- you'll need a distraction
Good luck though!

Congratulations!
Try not to worry too much about all other stuff right now, things will turn out ok.
Welcome!
I agree wi the pp that the Internet is your friend. My family isn't too far away but they are not able to enjoy my girls on a daily or weekly basis. When I got KU with DD1 I started a blog. It was a way I could include my family and friends. It turned out to be awesome because I still keep my blog and have transferred my pregnancy posts into books for my girls. I will do the same with the posts after pregnancies.
Hello and welcome!
Try not to worry about the distance too much. My husband is Air Force and we live almost 2000 miles from our family. We have a son and we make do. We skype, visit once a year, talk on the phone. It isn't ideal but it works. You'll make it work too.
