I love this name, but since I already have an Ella, I don't want to go super popular this time. I am okay with a semi popular name, but not as "top ten" popular as Ella. I see Brynn definitely had a major increase in popularity over the last couple of years, but it is still number 190 on the SS website. I know of a couple of friends of friends who named their babies Brynn last year, but no one I know personally. Just wanted to hear your thoughts on Brynn and it's popularity. Thanks!

I'm not really a fan personally, but it doesn't bother me.  I know of a few little girls named Bryn/Brynn but also don't imagine it will hit Ella popularity.

I really like this name.  The only Brynn I know IRL I went to high school with and I've always loved her name.  I don't think it will ever be super popular.  I think it's had a surge in the past couple of years thanks to Bethany Frankel naming her DD Bryn, but I think it will start to decline.

I like it. I don't know anyone with that name IRL.  I don't follow the Housewives stuff so I didn't know about Bethenny naming her kid that, but hopefully it won't go crazy and everyone use it.

my niece's name is Brynn, love it! my SIL has told me though that there's 2 other brynn's in her class. shes 6. The name is definitely starting to become popular; probably as popular as ella i'm afraid. Heres the top trending names for 2013:

Brynn is one of my top names if we are having a girl - I love it!

I agree with others, I don't see it being as popular as Ella so I figure if you love it, go for it!

We are naming our DD Brynn. I don't like overly popular either. I've never met a Brynn. I figured 190 is safe. Even if it increases it won't shoot up to like top 20 or anything.

Ditto this! I suppose it will go well with Ella, both are short names with repeat letters.

My bff just named her first DD Brynna so I am a big fan of Brynn   I can't see it being as popular as Ella and I think they go great together.

My DD is Brynn so I obviously love it.  It's a name I've adored since I was 11 and I'm so glad I got to use it.  When I picked it for DD it was #390 on the SS list.  I hate that it's gaining so much popularity, but I still would have used it, regardless.  I say go for it.

Though it's becoming more popular, I love the name! If my DH were on board, I'd be happy to use this name as a MN.

We took it off the list because it was becoming more popular, but when DD was born... We decided she is a Brynn. We love the name!
