Change exchange?

Do we want to change this exchange from ones in the past? 

We can make it so that the person you draw, is the same person who draws you (pen-pal style). This gives us a little more accountability but also leaves out some surprise on who has drawn your name.

I voted for keeping it the same for two reasons.  The first is that I like the surprise element of having to wait and find out who got you.  The second is that I worry about it creating even more resentment if people don't end up receiving their gift (which ideally wouldn't happen, but it seems it happened to at least two people on the last one, so we know it's possible).  It's bad enough to not get a gift when you're supposed to, but to not get a gift from a person you spent time and money buying and sending a gift to is even worse.  Of course, on the flip side it might make people more responsible about making sure they send their gift. . .But anyway, just my two cents.

I like the idea of pen pal style. It would be something different.

I think penpal sounds fun. But I vote that we still discuss things in one thread. I see the potential for too many callout threads getting obnoxious.
