Buying a flight but there's no where to add DD

I'm making a trip in a couple weeks, and I'm about to buy my flight through Southwest.  However, there is no where to put that I'm bringing DD.  Is that okay?  On my last flight with her (purchased through a different site), I was able to add that I was bringing a child under 2, and I even included her name.  She had her own ticket at the airport.  So...any ideas???

  • The last 2 times we flew I called and added her name.  It's no biggie, they just need to know the names of all the souls on board.

  • When I buy from Travelocity, they have a note at the end of the order that says you have to call the airline directly with your ticket number and just give them the name of the child.

  • Thanks so much everyone!!  It looks like I need to make a phone call.  I appreciate it!
  • we flew southwest in october and I booked online for just the adults and then called to add DS.  Then when i got to check in i had to show his birth certificate and that was it...very easy!!!
  • You actually don't have to call if you don't want to.  We fly southwest all the time and I just show up at the airport w/M and a copy of his birth certificate.  The skycap takes care of inputting his info and our luggage.  Have a great flight!

  • When I flew with DS on my lap, I had to call the airline beforehand to let them know. There was nowhere for me to specify that online.
  • if you are having a lap baby and not purchasing a separate ticket, the only time you are required to 'register' the baby is when you are flying inernationally.  You don't have to call for domestic flights.
  • Call southwest and they will add her. I just did the same thing for our flight last month.
  • You don't have to call. We fly Southwest all the time and we just show up and they add him. Also, don't bother printing tickets at home because they have to reprint them at the airport after they check the birth certificate (if they check...). You can still check in online early but just don't print.

Also, Southwest's family boarding is after the A group and before the B, so chances are that checking in ahead of time won't make any difference at all, because you almost never get the A group.

This. We fly SW all the time as well. Just don't forget the birth certificate! Love Southwest b/c if there are any empty seats on the flight, you can just put DC in the seat next to you. We have never had a problem--she usually gets her own seat and we have not bought her a ticket yet.
