In for a crazy ride! (Intro)

Hello July mamas, guess I'm joining the crew! I think we are in for a crazy ride with this baby! Here's my story: ever since I got my surprise BFP a few weeks ago I've had a bit of spotting off an on. I know that spotting can be normal but I never had that in my first pregnancy and last week I figured I'd call the doctor to be safe. I talked to a nurse on Thursday afternoon who reassured me it was normal and nothing to be concerned about but she would leave a note for the doctor to call me if he thought it was necessary, so I gave her my cell number. Over the weekend I checked the messages on our home phone (we sometimes forget to check it often) and heard a message from a nurse saying to call back- not sure why she didn't call back my cell like I asked her to! Of course over the weekend I couldn't do anything so I had to wait till this morning. I called first thing this morning at 8 on my way to the office and they said the docto
r wanted to see me as soon as possible. I got an appointment for 11 am today so I had to arrange with work to leave for a while on short notice. The doctor's office is very close to DH's work so he was able to meet me for the sonogram. The sonographer was an older gentleman which was a bit different than we were used to. He put the jelly on me and started to look around and found a gestational sac, then asked me "You're sure you got your dates right?" I said, yeah, I was pretty sure (I estimated about 7 weeks based on LMP). He told us the sac was measuring 5 weeks 2 days. We were looking at the screen and could see the sac but it didn't look like there was anything in it. He said he needed to do a transvaginal ultrasound to take a closer look so he left the room to let me undress and prepare. DH and I talked for the minute we had and agreed maybe this wasn't meant to me. We've been in such shock since we found out and the timing was not really what we had hoped for. The sonographer came back in and began the transvaginal ulrasound. Within a few seconds he said "There's a baby with a heart beat!" and we could see it on the screen! For the second time we had the shock of our lives! We were really prepared to hear bad news and couldn't believe what we were seeing. So even though I'm sure of when I started my period and based on that I would be about 7 weeks along, the baby is measuring around 5 weeks. It looks like I ovulated really late in my cycle and somehow we just happened to get it on at the right time. I had estimated my due date as June 22 but it's now July 2. We were kind of relieved because DS's birthday is June 19th and we didn't want them to be so close together. DH's birthday is July 8 so he might be sharing his 30th this year! I have a feeling this kid is going to be a trickster! We are still in shock and trying to get used to the idea of having 2 so close in age. I know it will be fun to have them grow up together but its going to be craziness in the beginning!

Similar story here...
I went in for what I thought would be my 7 week u/s, the tech told us she could only see an empty sac, that either my dates are off or I had a blighted ovum, I was pretty insistent on my dates, so I was convinced it was a BO...:(....PA told us our options and to expect the worst because it " didn't look good". We scheduled another u/s for the following week. Looong story short....After an agonizing week, to our surprise we saw the little peanut in there with a heartbeat!....yay! Tech dated me at 5.1 weeks...I'm also due on July 2nd.
Crazy ride indeed!
