back contractions?

Sometimes lately I've been getting these pains across my lower back. I'm not sure how to describe it..kind of like fluttering pains, which doesn't sound very painful, but it is, if that makes any sense. It only lasts about 10-30 seconds and goes away. So far I've only gotten one every few days, but today I've had several. Nothing regular. Has anybody experienced this or know what it could be? I was thinking contractions but the pain doesn't reach around to the front. I see MFM tomorrow.

Could be BH contractions.

You'll know if you're in back labor - it HURTS.  A LOT.  And every contraction may make you feel like you need to take a really big poop.
