3 Hours from Beginning or End of Feeding

So when they say your baby shouldnt go more than 3-4 hours without a feeding.... do they mean from the beginning or the end of the feeding?

Time starts from the very beginning of the feeding.  Kinda sucks when LO takes 1 - 1 1/2 hrs to breast feed!

I didn't know it was from the beginning. Oops. I was timing from them end. DS was 7lbs at birth, 6,8 at discharge and up to 7,10 by 8 days. He's 7wks now and doing great.
