WWPD?

So, tonight I have our hospital tour scheduled. My Doula is meeting us there since she has never done a birth at this hospital. The plan was for DH to go. Well, DH is trying to "make a deal". He doesn't want to drive the 45 minutes to go and he doesn't feel like it will be worthwhile. So, do I just accept a deal and not go with him or make him go? WWYD?

Re: WWPD?

  • I'm laid back with a lot of stuff but if this is new territory for you and you feel like you would like him there, then you get to veto his vote.

I think he can manage the 45 minute car ride if you can deal with labour and delivery.

promised myself I'd retire when I turned gold, and yet here I am
  • Do you feel okay with him not being there? If it means a lot to you then I would explain that to him. He should come and support you if you need the support.

What's the other part of this "deal"?

I feel like that information will help me make a better judgment.

If it's too personal, feel free to tell me to eff off.

DH is a hermit and hates going out into the "dirty" world. He is offering me movie night and a dinner out.

I'd take the deal, honestly.  We didn't do a hospital tour & my baby came out.  If you & the doula want to go still, take it as time to get to know your doula 1 on 1.

I am not one to answer. I think hospital tours are unnecessary.

    This!

  • That sounds like a good deal. You don't spend much time at the hospital and since you have a doula your DH won't have to leave your side very often anyways. We never did a tour so I'm not sure on what you are missing out on though.

In this case I'd take the deal in a heartbeat!

I think you can negotiate a better deal.  Personally I would be asking to be able to sleep in for a weekend or two and maybe some dishes or laundry duty.
