I have been wanting to ask this question for a while!
Grace0609:
My kids right now are 3.5 years and 18 months. The only stroller I use is our Maclaren double umbrella. Our oldest can hop in and out (I usually don't buckle him in anymore). It is super lightweight and folds easily. It's nice. I hate our tandem stroller (back to front) b/c of the folding mechanism and difficulty pushing b/c of the oldest (ie heaviest) riding in the front so he can hop in and out. But, that's the one that has the car seat attachment, so for about 4 months when this LO is born I will suffer through the tandem again. But, I will super excited to get to use the side by side again!
ETA: If I could do it again I would spend my money on something like this (a side by side that could accomodate one car seat):
DS will be two and a half when this baby arrives. Personally, we aren't going to get one unless it's a double umbrella. We just got a new BOB and I plan to babywear... so it's just not a huge deal for us.

Everyone on the multiples board says wonderful things about the city mini. I haven't started looking at strollers yet for our twins but I am really excited to go "test drive" this one.

Yeah, this is pretty much what I'm thinking. I might go for a sit/stand stroller if I see it reasonably priced at the consignment sale/store...
Because of the weight of most four year olds your probably looking a double BOB. But my single bob is 27lbs. My son will almost be 19 months so I just got this https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004WI2XU6/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1351039074sr=84pi=SL75 and it is a bus! Haha but works really well. I plan on saving fr a double BOB revolution.
I also baby wear.

I'm planning to get the Baby Trend Sit n Stand Ultra. I can get it at the BRU trade in event in a few months for 25 off. It's good enough for what we need. DD2 will be just over 2 1/2 yrs when the baby is born. We didn't buy one last time. DD1 was 4 yrs when DD2 was born.

We have a single BOB and Maclaren umbrella stroller. We will probably continue to use both of those quite a bit in the beginning and wear the baby.
I did also buy a double BOB revolution off of CL this weekend. We got it for pretty much half price and the people selling it lived only 2 streets away. We go to the beach a ton, as well as a lot of parks with nature paths etc and the BOB just handles it all so well. Also, DH and I both run so it's nice to have the jogging option.

We bought the Graco Duo-Glider, mainly because it was cheap (under $200 at Walmart), and I found one that matched the infant carseat I already had (also Graco). It's a tandem one, and I loved it. DD1 was about 6 weeks away from her second birthday when DD2 was born, so while they were both little it was awesome. It was pretty easy to push and manuever when they were small, but got to be a bit of a bus when they got bigger. I probably won't be using it very much this time though as DD2 is going to be almost 4, and likes to walk better than ride.
I was considering a Sit'N'Stand type stroller before I found the Duo-Glider, and I think that would be better for a 4-year-old + newborn.

The duo-glider is the one I'm seriously considering, also the Graco Quattro Tour.
I love the idea of the travel system compatible side by sides, but they are just SO insanely expensive. the $150-$250 price tag on the tandem Gracos are quite appealing. Also, I have used the Quattro Tour while nannying and I never had any major complaints. Yes, it's huge and bulky and not the easiest to maneuver, especially with a 4 year old in the front and a 1 year old in the back.. but not impossible. and it's got decent storage and cup holders.. I really don't mind the tandem strollers, but so may people seem to the side by side I'm still considering it.

This was my first choice, but our BRU doesn't carry it anymore.
I'm not sure how much shipping will be either, I didn't even think of that. We need something with a higher weight limit though since DS is so tall for his age.
With DS we got the BOB Ironman for jogging and walking then we got a cheapo stroller for running errands and going to the mall. It's a piece of junk but it's sufficient (I don't even know the brand name.) Oh and we also had the Snap 'n' Go when he was an infant, so that makes 3 strollers for one kid!!. I do NOT want to buy multiple double strollers so I'm probably going to spring for the BOB duallie.
OP, since your oldest will be 4 when the baby gets here, I would probably go with a sit and stand. Unless he is still really into sitting in the stroller. My oldest is 3 and she LOVES to ride in the stroller, so even at this point, a sit n stand would not be our best option. We have the Chicco Cortina Together and I love it. I have DD1 sit in the back so she is somewhat contained and DD2 gets to see what's going on.
Does anyone like the Britax double stroller? I have the single one and love it! Our son will be 2 1/2 when newborn will be here, so ill need something to use for both of them.
