Rolling over at night

We put our 5.5 month old DD on her back to sleep in magic sleep suit, which makes it just a bit tougher to roll over.  But, she often does and ends up on her belly.  Do you all roll them back over to their back? I know typically it's okay to leave them once they've rolled to their belly since theoretically they can roll back over, but I just worry since it is a bit harder to do while wearing the suit.  What are you all doing? We flipped her back to her back last night, and she woke up :(  She's working through some congestion and it was hard to get her to go back down.  WOndering what to do tonight when we're in that boat again.  TIA! :)

  • DD doesn't wear a magic sleep suit, but when she started rolling onto her tummy, we just kept her there.  Even now, she's really congested, but we still keep her on her tummy.

  • I have heard once they can roll themselves you can leave them there.  I think if she was upset about being on her stomach she'd let you know, and by now her neck strength is good enough to lift her head off of the mattress if need be or rotate her head to the side.

  • If it were me I'd ditch the suit, it's meant to prevent them from rolling and if she's doing it I personally wouldn't feel comfortable. I'd definitely flip her back over, though.

  • DD kept waking herself up trying to roll on her tummy, so I have to put her to sleep face down. I also tried swaddling her and it just pissed her off. She would just break out of it and roll over anyway.

  • When LO started rolling at night he would do it compulsively and be up crying all night (this lasted 2 weeks!).  At first I kept rolling him back but then I started trying to show him how to get comfy on his belly, turning his head and laying it down.  It took a while, but he's a total belly sleeper now.  I still put him down on his back but he's like a crib ninja and ends up every which way.
