I know that many of you haven't had your babies yet, but I could still really use your help.
I decided to go the creative route, and create my own baby photobook for Sean's baby book as well as my pregnancy memory book.
Questions for those of you with baby books... Tell me what is in yours (both that you love, and things that you hate).
1) What things did you put in the book about your pregnancy?
2) What did you put in about your birth story? How about the "day you were born" stuff?
3) What info is in there about the parents/grandparents/great-grandparents?
4) What else am I missing?
TIA! Any other info that you have would be great!
Re: RP: DIY baby book questions
I don't have mine with me... but here's a few things I remember...
There's a family tree type set up for each side (mother & father) that has enough space to go back to the child's great-grandparents.
There was a place for bios for both Mom & Dad (full name, nicknames, where they grew up, where did they go to school, and a few other things that I can't remember)
There was a place for info about when Mom first found out she was pregnant - reactions of Dad and other family members.
Also info about Dr who delivered baby, the hospital, who was there, etc.
Oh, and info about the baby shower(s) - who hosted, where it was, what the gifts were, etc.
Info about first doctors appointment for baby - and I believe other "milestone" type events (firsts).
Other than that all I can remember is that there's a page or so for each birthday.
Good luck! I'd love to see how your book turns out!
I haven't given birth yet but I'm collecting info/things for the book.
1) I am putting in a picture of me pregnant and probably info about my shower or the baby moon vacation we took. I will also probably put the ultrasound pics of the baby in there. Maybe a wedding picture of me and DH but maybe not.
2) Don't know what I will really put in there. Perhaps I'll have DH go buy a newspaper that day and save the front page? I will definitely put a synopsis of the birth in there so the kid will know what I went through
3) I was thinking about a small family tree- just up to mine and DH's grandparents with pictures and names.
4) I was also thinking about stuff about DH and me - where we grew up, favorite sports teams, hobbies, etc. and then have a section where we track the baby's favorite teams, hobbies, etc. I also saved every "congratulations on your pregnancy" card and shower card and I might put some of them in there so baby knows how many people cared about him even before he was born. Not sure though...
Then lots of blank pages for photos of baby!
At this point the book is totally all about us - LOL.
