We have been using the Freetimes for about 3 months now, my guys are 5 months and weigh about 13ish lbs. They are leaking almost every diaper right now, only pee but it comes out their back on the sides. I am changing them about every 2-3 hours, some times they don't leak and never with poop but the peeing all over their clothes is making me crazy! I point their penis' down when I change them but it doesn't seem to make a difference. We use Pampers at night and they don't leak out of those. All the diapers have been washed and dried, I have tried what I could think of but it's making for a lot of laundry when they are going through 3-4 outfits a day. I have the snaps on the second line, so I have moved them to one bigger size since we started. Any suggestions would be VERY welcomed! Thank you!
Re: BG Freetime Leaks in Boys
As the PP said, check if the diaper is soaked first. I usually try to change my daugher every 2 hours regardless.
Also, when you put the diaper on make sure that the inserts are all inside the diaper edge. I've found with the freetimes that a small edge can sneak out easily during a change.
When i'm done changing my daughter I also check the tabs by her legs to make sure the fleece isn't sticking out and that the tabs on the top are inside the diaper. She's really skinny, so I usually only have two buttons in the middle free.
The last thing that I had issue with was her actual onsies. I moved her up a size because they were tight fitting around her legs and I think sometimes they were actually pulling into the diaper edge and causing wicking.
So I have no practical knowledge on cloth diapering yet, but I thought I read that Free and Clear detergents weren't good and that we're not supposed to use bleach.
I plan to use mostly BG, so I've just been reading every post I can find about them.

Interesting, thanks for the info, I searched and searched for another alternative to the RNG because I couldn't handle the ammonia smell. This has worked great for us, I know others use it too but it might be causing my problems. I can't justify spending even more money on detergent I guess without knowing that it could be the real issue. Thanks though I appreciate the information!
Regular Tide powder is supposed to be fine, depending on your source of information. Honestly, I find all the detergent info to be so confusing.

sounds like a fit issue to me. If there's not enough compression in the diaper then the pee will have a harder time being absorbed.
I never thought about that....I will stop using the bleach for a little while and see what happens. Thanks ladies!
