Sleeping in a crib

DD is STTN pretty much around 9pm to 6am and sleeps in her RnP in our room. She doesn't sleep good laying flat in her back so I'm hesitant to stop using the RnP yet. My plan is to put the RnP in her room for a lil to help her get used to her room then move her to her crib. My only concern is when she wakes up around 6amafter that feeding she immediately falls back asleep for another 3 to 4 hours. right now i hold her for about 15 to 20 min then put her in her RnP and have never had any issues with her spitting up. so my question is what do you do with your LOs after a middle of the night feeding since they should sit up for about a half hour after feedings? Should i still consider that 6am feeding a middle of the night feeding since she always goes back to sleep after that even tho she is sleeping 8 hours before? maybe i should wait to put her in her crib yet til she is sleeping longer and when she wakes up and isnt going right back to sleep after feeding. know I might have to prop her mattress up if she still won't sleep flat but I really dont know how I feel about it.

Re: Sleeping in a crib

  • HI!

My LO was STTN (9:00p-7/8a) in his RnP for 3 weeks before I moved him to his crib.  He never really splet longer than 40 minutes in his crib for nap times so i was hesitant too but the first 4 days went smoothly which very little hesitation.  Even now with him having a little bit of a cold and going thru a growth spurt he is only waking up once (at about 3:30) for another feeding and goes right back to sleep in his crib.

For middle of the night feedings, i have NEVER waited 30 minutes to put him back in his RnP or his crib. When they eat at night time, they are much more relaxed, therefore not taking in as much air as they do during the day.  This means they are less likely to spit up.  I also hold him upright for 5-10 minutes while rocking in his rocker and then put him back down to bed.

I would def. transition your LO to her room first in the RnP for about a week and then give the crib a try.  I did raise his mattress just the other day becuase of a stuffy nose, all I did was put two thick books under the one side of the mattress to just put it on a slight incline.

    Hope this helps, and GL!
