Stomach flu advice?

Hi ladies-

So, DD was the last to go down in the house (i feel like a total heel - I brought it home :(   ) and thank god, she only threw up once on Wed night.. but unfortunately she has had diarrhea since wed. afternoon.    She didn't eat well yesterday, but is eating like a horse today, and Im pushing fluids like a maniac.   She's got a low grade fever that is under control with motrin/tylenol.    I'm just determined to see if there is anything other than BRATT diet foods that can possibly help with the diarrhea or if it just has to run its course?      Yesterday - we ate mostly BRATT foods, and we barely got food in her, but today she's asking for food every hour... after what she ate yesterday, I'd imagine she's hungry!

Any suggestions would be really appreciated :)

 Thanks -

Christine

Re: Stomach flu advice?

  • If she's still having diarrhea, then she probably needs to stay on the BRAT diet. Usually I ween back into normal food. I start with adding in things like a tiny bit of strawberry jelly on the toast, or some cooked chicken in the rice. Maybe some pasta with a tiny bit of butter or parm cheese for flavor. But only after the diarrhea is over. I hope she feels better!
  • Thanks - so far, that's what I've been doing... I suspect I'm going to have to wait this out.   I just have no idea how long the course of this runs! :(
