That sounds really bad written out.
This morning my boy would not finish his granola bar in the car on the way to school. He had not finished it by the time I had to leave him so I took a bite and told him to have the last bite. He didn't like that and threw the last bite on the floor. I picked it up and put it in the trash can and told him it was dirty now. He didn't like that either and tried to get it back and then laid down on the floor with his head next to the trash can. I didn't want to fuel the fire and told him goodbye and I loved him and left.
One of the teachers rescued him as I was leaving and took him to get a Nutrigrain bar, which I think was giving in to his tantrum, but at least it was not me who caved.
Anyway, I pictured myself in the same situation with DD and I know I would have spent 20 minutes trying to coax her out of her fit. The perspective of being a second time parent is an interesting thing.
