Success after IF

My body is a mess:(

So I went to my RE almost two weeks ago to consult about resuming treatment for another baby. You guys were right, I have lab work and diagnostic testing to call and schedule once AF shows up.
However, I've been thrown for a loop. Typically since having my lap, and two pregnancies, I've had 30 day cycles. I've done opk testing every month and they've always been negative.. But I think I've been o'ing really late and missing them. Yesterday I had cramping and took an opk for giggles. It came out positive.. On cycle day 22. Is there any hope to lengthening my cycle? Since I o'd so late does that pretty much mean there's no hope? I was so excited to see a positive on a stick, but now all the worry and doubt that goes along with IF is creeping in..
Sorry this got so long. Thanks to anyone that made it through the wall of text.

Re: My body is a mess:(

  • I used progesterone (after ovulation) to lengthen my luteal phase, which worked, although it did not result in a pregnancy.  I'm wondering if you used clomid or femara if that would help you to ovulate earlier.

Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

  • I went from never ovulating and long cycles to this. I was looking over my lab blood work that I have to do on cd 2,3, or 4 and progesterone isn't marked to check.. Is that something I should call and ask the RE about checking?
Progesterone might help me, since I'm ovulating, just really late?
Is it possible to even get pregnant with a week left in my cycle?

I'm not sure that they would check progesterone that early in your cycle.  Progesterone is something that is important mainly after you ovulate as it will help with implatation and then it will help support a pregnancy prior to the placenta producing it.  And yes, it is definitely possible to get pregnant with a week left in your cycle.  At the point an embryo implants your body would kick into high gear hormone wise, produce hcg and even more progesterone than it normally does at that point in your cycle and tell your body not to have a period.

    Good luck!
