I think it's a tease when people page one another, then you open the post and it says "YGPM". I'd much prefer people put "-bumpie- YGPM, NFT" in the title and be done with it. I have no idea why this bothers me, especially since I don't think I've ever been paged.
I don't think crib bumpers are that bad, especially at this age. I'm putting mine back on tonight, because Aria keeps whacking her head on the crib slats and getting bruises. (even with the breathable ones on there) She's a wild one in her sleep.
It's ridiculous to me that we can't have an election without mudslinging by the candidates. Tell me why you rock, don't waste your time telling me why the other person sucks.
I think breastfeeding sit-ins are counterproductive. I'm 100% in support of women breastfeeding in public, but really? At least around here, all those sit-ins do is make breastfeeding women out to be radicals. Isn't the point of educating people about NIP to show them that it's normal, natural, and NBD? To me, making a scene (by doing a sit-in) is the complete opposite of NBD.
I trust and respect doctors. Especially my specialists. I've only ever had a bad experience once, I spoke up and the doctor apologized.
I also think people spend too much time critisizing doctors and not enough time advocating for themselves. Hate your doctor, get a new one. Disagree with then, get a seine opinion. Have a concern, ask or tell them.

I kind of see your point. But when someone asks a nursing mom to go nurse in the toilet or to leave or cover up (especially when she is already being discreet) SOMETHING has to be done.

As I was typing all of mine, I thought "hmm... will this get me flamed? Oh well, at least it'll be entertaining!" Ha! I am wondering what the touchy topic will be today.

We have family pictures in 2 weeks, and I'm hoping the bruises are gone by then. If not, nobody call CPS on me when I post the pics on here. I swear it's self-inflicted, we don't beat her.

But when someone asks a nursing mom to go nurse in the toilet or to leave or cover up (especially when she is already being discreet) SOMETHING has to be done. ***This is actually what I wanted to comment on. I agree that SOMETHING has to be done. I just don't know that the sit-ins are it. Regardless, our society sucks. Pressure/encourage women to breastfeed, then mock them or degrade them while they're doing it!? How on Earth does that make sense? And seriously people, they're boobs. Everyone has them, they're not being flashed around... they're just feeding a child. Grow up and get over it. Honestly, I've seen more boobage from non-breastfeeding women walking around walmart. Take up your issue with them, but leave the breastfeeders alone. They're just feeding their children, for crying out loud!
People over 30 should NOT wear Aeropostale and abercrombie shirts ( with the brand and on the shirts). I can not stand that look. I won't even let my kids wear it.

Im not quoting bc I'm on my phone, but I agree about the sitin thing. I BF and I don't understand preaching that society shouldn't make it a big deal, and then driving home your point by...making it a big deal?
Im in a local Moms group on FB and they spend more time protesting and posting photos of their babies and naked boobies than I consider necessary.
Also, I just NIP for the first time this past weekend. Well, kind of I'm public...on the couch in the waiting area of Macys bathroom. No nasty looks...Most women smiled and kept moving. : Yay!
I don't understand when people say they don't believe in the information from studies (clarification - studies from credible sources). To be an official, published study that is believed in the medical community they have to follow certain guidelines when gathering and evaluating their information. It's not like someone studies 12 kids and publishes a study (well, except the doctor who linked vaccines and autism, but his "study" has been debunked and he lost his license).
Of course, I don't follow the advice of every single study - the girls sleep with levies and light blankets now, we have coslept on occasion, we used the BundleMes and I'm sure there are other things we've done that go against recommendations. But I still appreciate the studies because they give me information and allow us to make a more informed decision.
I've seen a few people on here say that they don't buy the results of studies because they must be biased, and it just baffles me. Look at CIO. People against CIO point to studies showing that kids can be emotionally damaged, but some of those studies were done with kids in orphanages who don't get as much attention generally speaking as our kids do, and other studies have focused on babies who are allowed to cry for a long time with no one checking in on them to comfort them. We've done some CIO but those studies still provided valuable information and helped us make a decision. Credible studies aren't biased - they provide results based on chosen studied factors. Read the study, understand the factors behind it that are or are not applicable to your situation, and use the information accordingly.

If you, your husband, and daughter ALL have colds don't go to a birthday party where there are a bunch of other children. Seriously. My SIL thought it was okay to bring her sick family to my MIL's birthday party where there are 2 newborns 2 infants (mine included), and a couple toddlers. They got a newborn, toddler, my other SIL and BIL, and now my daughter sick. I am so pissed. If it were my newborn...I would be livid! I guess this is more of a rant.

Everybody and their mother has seen my boobies. I've NIP from the very beginning. I never bothered to buy or use a cover. If people have a problem with it, it's just that - THEIR problem. I've never once been approached and asked to cover up/go somewhere else. I tend to agree with lancyjo, I think the sitins just polarize people, which doesn't really help the cause. If someone ever did ask say something to me about it, I'm perfectly capable of telling them politely that my child needs to eat and if they'd like to feed her instead, they can go for it.
And to jump on the abercrombie post - I completely agree, and I'd like to add American Eagle to the list. I'm sorry, but it just screams pre-teen to me.

I couldn't agree more!! A friend of mine is one and her children are extremely sheltered. No celebrations on holidays/birthdays, it's so sad. Her little girl just came over my house the other day and saw all our Halloween stuff up and she loved it and told me she wished I was her mom. Her mom didn't know I had the stuff up and she was livid that her little girl saw it. Hello.... stores have Halloween stuff up too!!

I think they meant the stuff with the brand blasted all over the front of the shirt/hoodie/whathaveyou. If I read it right, your jeans (and any clothing from said stores that don't have the brand name all over them) should be fine.
I am guilty of still owning one hoodie from each aforementioned store that says their name. I bought them in high school, they're the comfiest hoodies I own, and I refuse to get rid of them. (I don't really wear them out anywhere though) I also own some VS hoodies. No shame!

I love this. I only NIP with a cover unless it's in the car or something. I would be too terrified to let it all hang out, mostly because some guys are just pervs and will take any peek they can get. Somehow NIP makes me feel empowered though. I'll sort of be sad when she doesn't nurse anymore and I won't get to do it, haha.
If there was a sit-in near me I would totally do it though, with no cover if DH was OK with it. Nursing moms should have more rights in more places.
I totally think people vote for their own kid in the photo contests.
I think so too but I know I don't because there have been some weeks where O gets no votes. Then I am sad that I should have voted for my own kid because other people do.

There used to be a way that you could see who voted for what on polls. A girl on my local board figured it out a long time ago and someone got flamed BAD for something they voted for. But I can't remember how to do it. It's really not a big deal if people are, I just 'think' people are.

Consign! I will add VS "Pink" attire and shorts that have words on the butt.
And while I NIP all the time without a cover, I tend to agree about the nurseins. I think there are better ways to react to a closeminded establishment... Speaking directly to management, informing corporate or upper management of your treatment, harnessing the powers of social media, etc.
My UO: I flat out judge parents who put their daughters in beauty pageants. There are far better ways to teach confidence and poise. I cannot find one redeeming quality about pageants.

I think this as well.... I will admit, there was one time I did vote for Reece because I knew I wasn't going to win and there was one person that blew everyone out of the water. It made me feel better to vote for my little guy. I felt bad he didn't have any votes.

Okay, I'll clarify - the ONLY part about Halloween I like is cute little kids in costumes trick-or-treating. I don't like the scary crap. I don't like adults dressed up (really, anyone 13 or older). I don't like the cob-web/spider/witches/whatever else stuff. I HATE the Haunted House commercials, never mind the actual haunted houses.
Just little kid Halloween for me please. Heck, I was in Disney near Halloween-time a couple years ago and instead of going to the creepy Universal scary-a$$ Halloween thing, we went "Mickey's Not-so-Scary Halloween Party" and had a blast.
Don't even get me started on the siggy challenge scary gross stuff...ugh!

I hate the whole ombre/two tone hair dye thing going on. Why would you want your hair to look like your roots grew out 3 months ago?
::claps::
Especially when the two tones are bleach blonde (white?!) and jet black. Those colors would never naturally grow out of their heads. Also, if you have dark hair that you want to dye blonde, do your frigging eyebrows. You're fooling nobody, and you look ridiculous. (the curse of being a hairdresser's daughter... you notice all sorts of hair things.)
Here's another UO: I hate it when people dye (or streak) their hair wth any color that wouldn't naturally grow out of someone's head.

I ONLY like it because I haven't been able to get to the salon in far too long and I'm just hoping people think my roots are "on trend." Insert Smiley Here...damn mobile site.

Only because it's my boob that would be hanging out for all to see, so yeah, I would be asking if it was OK with him first. I wouldn't want him showing himself off in a "protest" if it wasn't OK with me (obviously there's not really an equal comparison on WHAT he could be showing but you get the point) so what's the difference? I respect his wishes. Nothing shameful about that.
If it was a march for women's right to vote or something, it's not something I feel like I'd have to talk to him about first because there's no showing of private parts during something like that. It's kinda different.
I think any namebrand Displayed all over a product is tacky. That goes for American eagle as well as coach.
I was walking through the mall with my teenager. We passed ae and I noticed hoodies on sale. He told me those we're very much middle school and 9 th grade. No older kids wore those anymore. Lol

I love them! Although I can't figure out how to do one myself so...
This adds to my UO: I think most of the GIFs aren't scary enough! I love Halloween movies, slasher, ghosts, horrible B movies on the SyFy channel, you name it! My favorite Halloween movie is appropriately titled, "Halloween". Every single year I watch Michael Myers terrorize Haddonfield, IL! I literally can't wait until SyFy and AMC start playing all the movies in the series as well as any other slasher type films.
Haha, can you tell Halloween is my favorite holiday?!

Me too. I watched SyFy regularly but now that DS is awake most of the day, I've had to cut way way back to when he is napping or sleeping. I just don't feel right watching those movies with him in the room. Halloween is also DH's birthday.

Popcorn anyone?
My American Eagle jeans are awesome and the one only ones that fit my 37year old post pregnant azz. Not ashamed!
Great minds think alike!
No shame!

About Abercrombie....Yep... I have a couple and I am 33 and still love em.... does it help if I look younger than 33?? LOL
LOL at asking your husband first. Sorry, but asking your husband if you can participate in a women's rights protest is all kinds of backwards.
I think this as well.... I will admit, there was one time I did vote for Reece because I knew I wasn't going to win and there was one person that blew everyone out of the water. It made me feel better to vote for my little guy. I felt bad he didn't have any votes.
I'm with you on this one, Shoe.

I don't like Halloween.

Right now I am sporting it and it's driving me crazy! I need my hair to stop falling out before I put any color in it... I hate it!!!!
I was walking through the mall with my teenager. We passed ae and I noticed hoodies on sale. He told me those we're very much middle school and 9 th grade. No older kids wore those anymore. Lol
I think companies should pay you to wear their merchandise with a giant logo on it. It's free advertising for them and you are paying big bucks to do it for them. Crazy.
