I was going to wait until I'm on Christmas break, I'm a teacher, so I can nap if we have bad nights. That and DS is still not sleeping very long so I want him on our room until he does.
I'm just glad I finally got him out of my bed! I guess I'll start the transition when he's 6 moths old. The risk of SIDS is lower, and he should be sleeping longer than 4 or 5 hours by then.

I can't imagine not having LO in our room - I'll miss him too much! Seriously though, the AAP recommends keeping your child in your room until at least 6 months. Also, as I'm breastfeeding and LO is not even close to STTN, it is so much easier to have him right next to me in my room at night.
Me too. Everyone told me that I HAD to get one. I'm good.
Agree! I have enough problems with this kid screaming I fight sleep!
I somehow didn't know what one was until people on here started having their babies. I'm glad for that. He's in a cosleeper but at least that's flat so hopefully tha transition will be easy enough.
toh - when ds2's sleeping/nursing ratio improves seriously though, we'll move him upstairs to the nursery at around 4-5 months just like we did with dd and ds1.

She slept an hour and 20 minutes in it the other night... until I finally picked her up and put her back in the RnP because I needed to sleep. Basically I am terrified of her being in the crib. It's within arms reach of our bed but I still can't get over the fear of her managing to kill herself in her sleep by rolling some weird way while swaddled, since she only sleeps swaddled.
I literally laid and sat in bed, staring at her, sometimes in tears and feeling nauseous the whole time. I don't even know why. I am just so scared of it. It's bad.
Sera is moving to the co-sleeper this weekend and I am starting to put her in the crib for naps. She seems to want to stretch out a little, so maybe we'll get lucky. Wishful thinking, I'm sure.
He has been sleeping in his crib since 2 weeks old, but his crib is in our room and probably will be until we buy a house (summertime, maybe). I'm so thankful I have a kid who likes to be flat on his back!
Re: When are you switching to the crib?
When she starts flipping over. We still haven't even gotten one yet nor do we have her room cleaned out and put together. Talk about procrastinating.
