If you have an IKEA crib, come in

DH finally put together our IKEA crib.  There are like a gazillion "warning" stickers on the wood, (okay, there are 4).  What did you use to get the stickers off?  They don't seem to peel off easily at all, and each one is like a foot long...

  • Our stickers were on the slats, so we just left them there. I used goo-gone to remove stickers and adhesive from books when I worked in the library. It smells awful, but it does a decent job on adhesive. https://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=100191884&storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&ci_sku=100191884&ci_kw=%7bkeyword%7d&kwd=%7bkeyword%7d&cm_mmc=shopping-_-googleads-_-pla-_-100191884&ci_gpa=pla#.UHHG1E3O0ms

  • Heat with a blowdryer and it will come right off (you might have to do parts at a time)
  • We ran into the same problem...I used goo-gone (the gel version.) I took as much of the sticker off as I could and then applied the gel. It took two tries but it's gone and no more sticky!

  • I soaked ours with a warm wet washcloth that I use in cleaning.  After a little elbow grease they all came off but it took some time.  I was afraid to use a cleaning solution since I know a lot of kiddos chew on the top rails.

  • I have a IKEA crib as a spare at my parents.  We soaked the labels in vinager and water solution.  One warning with my IKEA crib we had a lot of paint dust that I kept wiping off.  We did it often and now it is not an issue but it was really disturbing at first.

  • If you have a Gulliver and follow the instructions, the stickers are on the inside of the front rail and the outside of the back rail so you can't see them if the crib is flat against a wall. I have not taken them off because I can't see them. I guess the baby can see them while in the crib, but does it matter. Should I try to take them off?

I would because as the babies get older they may try to peel them off or chew on them. I just peeled them off then used goo gone remover to take off the stickiness.
