Started having pretty good contractions about an hour ago (after having minor ones all day and more intense but not major ones for 4 hours). I just called the hospital to see if either of the birth suites with tubs are available in case I decide to come in sooner rather than later. (I want to labor as long as possible at home, but I also really want one of those tub rooms!! It's a draw.) The nurse I talked to said, "Oh, ten minutes apart? You're not in labor yet." Hahaha, it's starting to FEEL like I am, that's for sure! Good to know I haven't even started...

Haha well sorry the nurse was a downer. You might very well be in early labor, I don't think she should have put it that way. If things don't pick up tonight then hopefully they will soon. Try to relax and get some rest as hard as that is I know! Good luck mama :

Hah. Sorry the nurse was so nasty. My contractions were 10 minutes apart only 5 hours before I gave birth. Hope you're holding your baby already (and you got a room with a tub and a different nurse)!

That was not very nice of the nurse!  Go with how you feel!  You will know when it is getting close and you need to get to the hospital. My contractions never established a pattern, they were very sporadic.  I would have some contractions that were 3 mins apart and then 6-8 mins apart.  I never had an established 4-1-1 or 5-1-1 pattern.  I transitioned to the hospital when I knew it was time.  My DH asked me if I really thought I was ready to go to the hospital-I told him heck yes, it is almost time.  The hospital was a 10 min drive and my water broke as soon as I walk in.  I was 6 cm and dilated to 10 cm in 30 mins.  I delivered my LO in the next hour!
