Alright, the last thing I wanted with this pregnancy is a c-section..but yesterday at my appointment we found out that baby A is breeched
what are the chances that he will turn? and Can someone who has had a c-section please tell me it will be ok! I am a nervous wreck now...I also have seen where some of you say they schedule you for your c-sections, how soon do they do this? I am 28 weeks. Thanks!!
Re: needing comfort...Baby A is breeched :(
He still has time to turn- but having a c-section is not the end of the world.
I had a c-section- I also had a super easy recovery and was up and moving as soon as they would let me (I had pre-e so I had to be on mag for 24 hrs). I stayed on top of my pain meds, and felt back to myself in oh 5 days of so. I was driving 10 days after surgery- I felt so good. My Dr. scheduled my c-section at 33 weeks (both my boys were breech and my Dr does not do breech extractions)- for 37 weeks , since I was having BP issues and then was diagnosised with pre-e (after being put on bedrest at 31 weeks). But my symptoms worsened and I had an emergency c-section at 34w 3d.
I had a c-section and it was great. I was up and moving around by early evening and by day 4 I could go up and down stairs by myself (slowly, but still). I actually felt much less pain then I expected and overdid it at about day 7-8 and really felt the repercussions the next day, but other then that it was smooth sailing. Both a vaginal delivery and a c-section can have complications. I hope that the baby turns and you get the birth that you want, but if not, just walk as early and as often as they'll let you, stay on top of the pain meds, take it easy for a couple of weeks and you'll hopefully have a very easy recovery.
Good luck!
Okay. If I were there I would shoosh you and pat your hair, but since this is the internet...
It'll be FINE. How many kids are you planning on having? That is the ONLY reason I would worry about having a section. If you want 13 kids, I'd try hard for a vaginal birth. If you're looking at 5 or less, the c-section would probably be just fine.
Recovering from a c-section is usually pretty easy, especially if this is your first pregnancy. You're really just sitting on the couch and feeding babies for the first 6 weeks anyway. You do have more recovery time, but I think you'd find that after the first week you'd already be feeling much better. This will be my fourth and honestly, I look forward to being able to take a few weeks to claim "recovery" and just get some rest while I snuggle my babies!

I haven't had my Cesarean yet, but I will tell you that it will be just fine if it has to go that way. I had about a 7 inch vertical incision to remove a hyperstimulated ovary when I was 17w along with my boys - I'm now 21w along, and we're all doing alright. I had 20+ staples holding my incision closed, and I've been growing the whole time - so my recovery was no fun (not to mention that a vertical cut completely separates your abdominal muscles and makes it very difficult to do anything - a standard horizontal CS cut is supposed to be much easier to recover from).... I was down for a good three or four days not able to do a whole lot, but I blame that on the kind of incision I had more than the surgery, its self. By the end of the second week, I felt all but normal aside from the itchy healing process.
I figure that if I can go through all that and hold up alright in the middle of my second trimester, a Cesarean cut where I can heal with no babies pushing up inside should be nothing to fear

My twin A was breech from 18 weeks on and my twin B transverse. As of 28 weeks I started doing Webster technique with my chiropractor and at my last growth scan at 32 weeks A was head down and B was still transverse. As of yesterday (35wks) they are both head down. I also was doing knee chest inversions (get on the floor on your hands and knees and lower your shoulders to the floor for 15-20 mins, 2-3x a day - I did it on the bed cause it was more comfortable).
I know I could still end up with a c-section but at least I did everything in my control to not need one now and that makes me feel better. Good luck.

Hang in there, there is still time for turning. I would also familiarize yourself with c-sections and make peace with that possibility.
Even with mine both being head down for the last 16 weeks, my dr has told me all along that it's still a big possibility I could need a c-section - that it's often a game day decision with twins. I figure I have a 50/50 chance. While I don't want a c-section, I'll be ok if this is what the dr decides on delivery day will be the safest way to get my babies out.
