I had a semi monitored clomid cycle this month. I had bloodwork and one ultrasound, but not as monitored as it would be with an re. Next month we are starting with a re.
The nurse called me today to tell me the doctor is calling me tomorrow to tell me about my cd 21 levels. I asked her what they were and the nurse said 8.2. I know I will have my doctor answer some questions tomorrow, but I'm just confused as to if that meant I ovulated or not. I was supposed to, but through the cycle the doctor told me the 50 mg wasn't enough and that the re will be bumping it up to 100mg next month. (they are in the same building/practice). Does that mean there is no chance for pregnancy this cycle? Thanks for any info!
Re: Question about cd21 progesterone levels after clomid
There is a good chance that your level is inaccurate....because you weren't monitored.
An 8.2 would show ovulation, but most REs want a level of 15 on a medicated cycle.
Yes, they will double your dose for your next cycle. I have a friend who had p4 levels of 9 at 7 dpo, then got a BFP and at 13 dpo her p4 level was 26! So, it is still possible, but not likely.
When I took clomid 50 mg my p4 levels were 11.6. My Dr wanted to see over 15 for a medicated cycle (over 10 is good for a natural cycle), so when I switched to femara we doubled the dose (same as 100 mg clomid) and my p4 was 21.6 at 6 DPO. Hopefully a double dose (plus maybe a trigger) will get your p4 levels higher.

Thanks for the answers. After not having ovulated for so many cycles, I'm just relieved that there's ANY indication that i ovulated. I was starting to feel I wouldn't be able to. I have never seen a positive on an ovulation stick and I've used them every day for almost a year. Even this medicated cycle. I'm going to check out fertility friend tonight and start temping this next cycle.
I have really irregular sleep patterns because of my job, so I will have to set an alarm clock to wake up solely to temp. I was really hoping that opk would have worked with clomid so I wouldn't have to temp. I've been dreading that more then anything.
