Hi! Our routine for LO has always been bath/bottle/ and than rock him for 5-10 minutes after bottle and he goes to his crib at this point he is usually asleep.
Do I need to start sleep training now that he is 7 months and not do the bottle right before bed?
Please share your routines!

Re: Still doing bottle before bed?
I think you can still do a bottle at night ... just do it before bath time instead of after. That way, you can put DS in his crib awake (take out the rocking part) and he'll learn to fall asleep on his own.
That being said, I don't think you have to sleep train if you don't want to. If it's not broken, don't fix it.
Our routine is bath, diaper/jammies/lotion, story, nurse, and crib. However, my DS doesn't always fall asleep while nursing. When he's done, I just put him in his crib wide awake, kiss him goodnight and he puts himself to sleep.

We always do the bottle at about the same time (8:30, give or take a few minutes based on how tired Rowan is seeming or what's going on). Sometimes she falls asleep while drinking and we put her straight to bed. Sometimes she is still drowsy but awake, and we put her to bed. Sometimes she is fully awake, and we put her down and have to come up a few times, or give her her lovey. It generally seems to work out well, though on occasion there's had to be a lot of rocking. Only about once a month or so. She has always been pretty good at getting herself to sleep.
Her waking up in the middle of the night... is a different story.
Uh! This is the worst!! So here is our attempt at bed time. We give him a bottle. I lay him down with about three toys. He will cry but play a little. he drifts off with his toys and eventuattly falls asleep. My plan is to decrease the amount of toys untill he just drifts off. It is working so far. Good luck.
DD usually nurses 30-60 minutes before bed. If she's really tired, she falls asleep while nursing.
I say if it works for you, stick with it.

Same here. Sometimes however he doesn't fall asleep while nursing but he will put himself to sleep just fine once I put him in the crib.
I nurse right before bed. Sometimes he falls asleep nursing, sometimes not.
With my daughter, I nursed her right before bed until she was ~13 months old - and then replaced that with a sippy of milk while we read a book (she never drank too much) and took that away maybe around 18 months or so?
