Dumb question from a FTM... we plan on having baby sleep in our bedroom in a Pack n Play with a bassinet attachment. I'm trying to think through the logistics of middle of the night blow outs and vomiting and whatnot. Do you just put the baby in the bassinet with a swaddle or do you line it with anything? What happens when baby has huge blow outs ? I'm guessing the bassinet liner is washable but it only comes with one? It seems easier if baby was sleeping in the "crib" part of the PnP since you can buy liners and sheets for that part. Just not sure how to handle keeping the bassinet clean.. thanks for any and all advice !

Re: For those that use the Pack N Play as a bassinet...
We used the bassinet part right away but DD hated sleeping flat so she ended up sleeping in the rock and play anyway. And my daughter has reflux and had zero blowouts and vomits in the the middle of the night (or any time for that matter) so don't stress about it. Just buy an extra sheet like PP said. Wait and see where your LO likes to sleep before yo buy too many things for the PnP. We went throught a $200 bassinett, the PnP bassinet, her swing, and finally when she was 3 weeks we bought the rock and play and she slept like an angel in that thing

We don't use the newborn napper at all
Waste of money for us.
We haven't opened the PnP yet, our LO loves the Rock and Play and since he is not complaining we simply go with that one. Our PnP has the Napper/Changer too and we were going to use it for downstairs and have the RnP upstairs....but since he loves it, we just take it to whatever floor we are on.
In other words....be flexible, grad some receiving blankets to put on the bottom and finger's crossed your LO sleeps well. I wouldn't worry about blowouts though, if they happen, they happen. We haven't had any yet...knock on wood.

With DS1 he would have those blow-outs more when he was actually feeding. When he was in a sleeper all swaddled up he rarely pooped on the sheets it was the rare puke. Once he burped he usually wouldn't throw up. We have the PNP with the newborn napper and we would just lay a receiving blanket folded up a couple times under his head or one of those lap pads (which are lined with plastic). Since he wasn't laying with his face on it I wasn't worried about him suffocating on it. Plus the napper part is at an angle which helps with reflux so he shouldn't puke in it like if he were flat in the bassinet part.
