Appointment Question

I'm a FTM and don't know what to expect.  What does a normal appointment involve?  I had a 9 week appointment (confirmed baby and had an ultrasound), 12 week (NT scan, ultrasound) but I've yet to have a regular appointment.  My next appointment will be at 16 weeks.  Do you get to hear the heart beat?  I just don't know what to expect.  Thanks!

Most appts are quick. You pee in a cup, get to hear the heartbeat, and address any questions you may have :

As PP said, these appointments are normally quick. Pee in a cup, hear the heartbeat and you're on your way. Later on, they will also measure your belly.

As the others said, pee, heartbeat, talk.  I suggest writing questions down because pregnancy brain tends to make me forget them as soon as I get there.

Thanks ladies!  I'm glad I will get to hear the heartbeat.  I can't wait to start feeling the baby so that I don't have to worry!  Wouldn't it be nice to have an ultrasound every appointment?

My 13 week appointment was a doppler and a urine sample.  My OB said that my 17 week one will be a urine sample, doppler, and a blood test for spina bifida.
