Alright.. So this has happened to me twice now. My needle easily pokes into my hip and everything seems routine blah blah. I pull the needle out and there is a little spurt of blood (like a literal squirt) and a little stream runs down my leg and ends up with a few drops on the floor. This happens super quickly before I jam my finger over the injection spot to stop it. wtf. Now it is going to hurt for like a week after.
Has anyone else done this or am I just flat out stupid?.... or full of jet propelled blood?
Also, what the crap do I do with all of these needles? I have a sharps container... Do I just throw that away?
Re: ugh. wtf progesterone shot.
I believe you can take your sharps to your local police station and they'll dump it for free. Doubt they'll give you a new one tho.
I haven't had squirts but occasionally shots that do bleed. The bleeders don't seem to make me sore though... Bruise, yes.

Another thing to try (assuming these are intramuscular injections) is to pull the skin sideways when giving the injection, and then letting go of the skin after you pull the needle out. It kind of prevents thre from being one open track where stuff (like the med, or blood) can ooze back out. It's referred to as the "z-track method." If that doesn't make sense, there are lots of youtube videos on how to do that. It's how I was taught in nursing school.
And ditto, do NOT throw your sharps container in the trash.
Congrats to both my TTC buddies, Amberley18 and sb2006 on their beautiful babies!
