My husband's name is Nicholas and he kinda wants to name our baby boy after him. I hate juniors so I am thinking Nicholas as a middle name. What do you think of Cade Nicholas?
Cade is NMS, but it's an okay name. I like the idea of using Nicholas as a middle name, I am also not a fan of juniors.
All of this. Personally Cade is just too weird for me, sounds kind of made-up. My DH also wanted a "junior" but I'm not a fan of them... my uncle & cousin have the same name (except my cousin is the junior obviously), and my cousin has totally ruined my uncle's credit since they have the same name & a lot of the stupid sh!t my cousin does ends up on my uncle's record. That was the reasoning I gave to DH & he was okay with that. Our compromise was to use DH's middle name, Alexander, for LO's first name.

In the Indian culture, all family members take the first name of the husband as their middle name. I chose not to do so for my name when I changed it after we got married, but we will do so if LO is a boy and a variation of my husbands name if LO is a girl. I think Nicholas for the middle name is a great idea! Cade is also not my style, but sounds good with Nicholas!
My husband and son will have the same first name and different middle names (the baby's will be Nickolas, actually). The baby won't be a "junior" -- it only applies (when used correctly) if named identically to the father.
For about 5 seconds we considered Raymond (my H's name and his Grandfather's name) but then we realized having two Raymonds in the extended family is difficult enough (typically they are called Raymond B and Raymond J) but in the same immediate household that would just be too confusing. Plus I don't like "Jr's".
So now we are onto an entirely different first name with the middle name being DH's father's name.

I love the name, but I think it flows better if it's Nicholas Cade, instead of Cade Nicholas. You could still have a different name, but just call him Cade. My father and brother have the same name, Patrick Lee, and it's caused nothing but problems. My brother will still wants to name his DS Patrick Aaron, to still honor our dad, but give his son a different name. He will call him Aaron.

Agreed. I think using Nicholas as a middle name is a good compromise.
