What simple concepts are difficult for your child?

DS has the hardest time understanding what it means to lay on his back vs. lay on his stomach.  He is absolutely emphatic that he is laying on his back when in all actuality he is laying on his stomach.  It has been going on for weeks w. no end in site... What about you?  What easy concepts are difficult for your LO?

Re: What simple concepts are difficult for your child?

  • For the longest time DS would say "Mommy carry you" when he wanted to be picked up. I would say "No, you mean Mommy carry me". But he kept saying "Mommy carry you" even though he has known how to use I, you, me, etc properly in sentences forever. It was the weirdest thing-I think he really thought that "Mommycarryyou" was all one word or something. (Since i would often ask, "do you want mommy to carry you?")

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner.  She is sure that they are interchangeable, she's even told us they all mean the same.
