Movin' up

So we are starting to eyeball our spare room upstairs and think about how to turn it into LO's "big" boy room. We are kind of against a toddler bed, because he's a pretty big little guy and I don't think he'll stay in it for long enough to warrant the expense.

Do any of you creative/crafty types have any suggestions for making a toddler boy's bedroom feel welcoming to the little man? We'd like this transition to be exciting for him (somewhere around January). I'm coveting Pottery Barn kids navy madras quilt and sham set.

Re: Movin' up

  • If you plan on putting him in a twin bed I would just put in on the ground for now so he can get in and out on his own. No other ideas sorry

  • I've been thinking of the same thing for DD and I don't really want a lot of toys sitting out so she's not tempted to get up and play instead of sleeping. I am thinking it'd be nice to create some kind of reading corner with pillows on the floor and maybe make a couple of these cute cushions I found on pinterest. Otherwise I'm planning to keep it pretty simple and baby-proof.

  • Instead of a toddler bed have you considered a twin that sits low to the ground, and a guardrail.  I know PB has some.  I love their bedding but I don't know that I can afford their actual furniture/justify it!

PS - I too covet the madras navy bedding from there!
