I honestly think the people who had a brief "bout of I"F are the worse. I saw someone who had recently become pg from IVF jump all over someone who asked a meds question and I could not believe how quickly she must have forgotten how hard this is since she treated the girl still trying like sh!t...

I don't understand why people would lurk to keep up with friends, but don't support these friends openly.

I fall into the 1% who does not have FB, but if you ladies decide to go private - I would consider opening an account for IFV.  As for the looky loos, doesn't bother me.  What does bother me are random inconsiderate postings in all the wrong places.  As long as we continue to keep that in check (thanks E!), I am good.

I know I went MIA for a while, but I still want to be able to support my gals. Plus, when my time comes for IVF, I will need all the support I can get. I feel this board is an outlet where people truely understand me. A FB page would work since I am on that too.

I totally agree, but I also understand that there are some vents or topics that are not appropriate for a public forum. I'd rather see a private board for this than have them left unsaid.

Although I hate to feel like the zoo, I think many of the lurkers may be legit.

When I started off on TTGP (waaaaaay back in 2009 when it was still GP), I lurked on the old TTTC because I knew I had PCOS. When TTC became Infertility, I lurked there, too, before moving to the new TTTC. And, before I moved here from TTTC, I lurked a lot. I used to lurk on SAIF, too, and I don't feel that the board has fully recovered from it's mass exodus.

Even if I wasn't yet at the right IF stage to post on the board I was lurking on, I learned so much. I feel like that would go away if half our conversations were taking place on a private board. Just my two cents. I will go where you ladies do.

I will answer your question, though of course, I am only speaking for myself.  While I don't think I am technically IF...it is unlikely that I will be able to conceive a second child.  As we are considering DE, I lurk on this board so I can learn as much as I can about DE from women who are also considering this path or who are currently undergoing DE cycles.  With possible insurance coverage on the horizon, I will become a more active poster on the DE related posts once I (hopefully) have coverage.  I hope it will be ok for me to participate in that forum, even though I have DS.

I take it from your history on IF/IFV you mean on the DE check-ins on the Infertility board and that you'll continue to be mindful of your signature. Lurking is definitely encouraged, but I think the point is that that a lot of people aren't looking for information; they're in for the entertainment from 'those crazy bitter folk.'

I haven't been around too much. Feeling down and we are on a break due to lack of funds and have no idea what to do next. I do feel like while I love this board I hate that there are so many lurkers. When I am here I do post as much as I can. I hate in real life people who think they are infertile yet have kids now or even if they were forget so easily and treat people like crap.
