How to relieve trapped gas?

I woke up really early this morning (2 hours before my alarm went off) feeling very uncomfortable and the feeling hasn't gone away. I think I'm dealing with trapped gas but I'm not entirely sure. I have a pain on my right side just above where my uterus is currently sitting. It's much higher than non-pregnancy gas pain but I assume this is just because everything has shifted up.

Any ideas how a pregnant woman can relieve trapped gas? (I've tried drinking water, taking a walk, and stretching out...) At this point it's more annoying than anything but if it's not better soon I may start to wonder if there is something else going on...

Try lying on your left side for a while......I don't know if it's an actual 'remedy', but it usually works for me.

well i get down on all fours and put my butt up into the air.  Its not a pretty sight but it works.  Try to lower your chest as far as you can comfortably and safely go.  Get that booty way up there!

Gas-X was recommend by my OB. I also tried the pillow method early in pregnancy but depending on how your belly is feeling you might not be able to use it now. Basically, take a pillow and place it low under your hips and lay down over it, so on your stomach. I guess the change in pressure on your stomach helps moves things along. I burped it out a few times doing that. Feel better!

DH wishes my gas was trapped....

Sometimes when I do get this feeling, I lie on my back on the couch or something and bring my knees up to my chest (or as far as they'll go) to get some pressure in there which tends to help.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've tried many of them but it's not working which makes me think it may be something else (I hate that I don't know my body anymore)...

Maybe ligaments stretching... Or LO kicking in the same spot all night...?

I don't think it warrants a call to the OB (yet) because it's not severe and I'm not bleeding or anything... I don't know though...
