I want to like it but it always makes me thing of the word "caring" and then the name becomes too sweet and syrupy for me. It really is a nice name, though, and I would probably think it was darling if I were to meet a little girl named Carina/Karina (I don't have a spelling preference).
I love Karina- it was one of our girl names for DS1. I prefer it spelled with a K over a C, which is weird because I usually prefer C. I also much prefer Karina over Corrine or any of those variants.
I love it, but definitely prefer it with a C. The K looks weird to me and feels a little Kardashian. This is probably because the only Carina I've ever known was with a C. She was a German foreign exchange student at my high school and we still keep in touch now. I think it's a beautiful name.
