Which sperm bank to use?

What sperm bank have you used and had success / bad experiences with?

We are using The Sperm Bank of California - https://www.thespermbankofca.org/  because we liked the research they do, that they try to keep it to 10 families per donor, have an identity release program that was extremely important to us and they were easy to work with and were personable. 

I obviously haven't had any success with their product at the moment, but hopefully it will happen. Working with them so far has been easy though.

Am going to undergo 1st DIUI cycle in a couple of weeks. My nurse recommended xytec and we went with them. She told us they had good results with them. I really liked that they have Identity release donors. I found their customer service reps to be helpful and spoke with a very knowledgable clinical specialist. I did find them to be more expensive than other banks, but I'm hoping the results will be worth the extra cost.

Identity release - is that where you know who the person is you're getting the sperm from?  I assume you want this for future medical reasons, etc?

I have done just a little research with California Cryo and Fairfax, I think that's what it's called...not much info yet but just wondering what are identity release donors??

The child can contact the donor when the child reaches 18. If our child, not me or my husband requests it, they will be given the donor's contact info. It is very important to us that our future child has this option if they wanted to reach out to their genetic donor.

A sperm bank with an Identity Release program was a huge huge must for us. We want our child not to feel stuck or like he can never know from whom he got half of his genes. Even if our child decides not to get in touch with the donor, we don't want to take that option away from them.

This is called an "Open" donor at California Cryobank. We haven't had success but they have great customer service and a very well organized, detailed donor search online. Good luck with your search!
