Hello everyone! My DD, Lilah, was born 6 days ago at 29w 5d. She was 3 lbs exactly. I was in and out of labor for 2 weeks so was able to get the steroid shots 2 weeks before her birth and 3 different courses of mag sulfate. She came out feisty and crying
she was on CPAP for 3 days and skipped the nose cannula all together. She has been on room air and doing well since taking her off the CPAP. She has been on phototherapy for the last 4 days, the dr thinks maybe tomorrow she will be off the lights (her levels are soooo close) We are excited for that so we can see her beautiful face
overall the drs say she is doing amazing, but we know there is still a long road ahead and every day could bring a new challenge. It's nice to know I can go somewhere and vent or share success with other moms who have been there
I look forward to sharing her journey and hearing about yours ![]()
And without further ado, this was taken of her today at 6 days of life ![]()
Re: New preemie mom intro (and AW PIP)
She's beautiful! Congrats!
I'm a new preemie mom, too, but my daughter was born 3 days ago at 33 weeks 6 days. It appears there's lots of great info and support here.

Congrats and welcome! Lilah is just precious...love that name too, if DS had been a girl, he would have been Ila (pronounced eye-la).
Glad she is doing well so far! I hope her NICU stay is as short and uneventful as possible as well!
