to keep or not to keep...

Today I received a suprise gift in the mail from an old friend and I was so shocked because I thought people were done shopping my registry. He bought us the "my little snugabunny Cradle swing" off of our registry which is like 170.00. Along with a few other items.  I am debating on keeping the swing because our neighbors gave us a cradle swing a few months ago for free (its gender neutral bumble bee theme).  There are no other big things that we need, but I could always use the store credit for a ton of little things, but I absolutley love the look of this swing which makes me want to keep it (it also plugs in which the one I have does not)... I could always take the other swing to my dads house for when she is there if I kept both...What would you do, keep it or return for store credit?

I'd keep it and send the hand-me-down one over to your dad's house. If it's something your kid ends up using often, you're probably going to really like the fact that it plugs in.

Will she be going over to your dad's house a lot? My aunt had her DS#2 back in March and she ended up buying two of the swings because her DS#2 spent a lot of time at my parent's house and they just didn't want to keep lugging it back and forth.

If there are things you absolutely need right now and could use the store credit then I'd return it. We got a cute bouncer for our shower and we recently just got two bouncers that my aunt is no longer using for her DS#2. So we will be returning the really cute bouncer that we got at our shower because we could use some other items.

If it was me and the ton of little things you talk about getting are vital...then I would return it. If the things you have left to get are just fun, non important things...then I would keep it. GL!!

yea I honestly cannot think of anything in particular that we really need. We have everything from a bouncy seat, play mat, pack n play, and we are fairly stocked on diapers and wipes up through size 2. I would probably end up using credit for clothes or something. Eventually we will need baby gates, but I guess I would much rather have a cute swing than baby gates right now.  Those are something we can buy later when baby proofing is a must. Thanks for helping me think it out!

I would wait to decide until you know of your LO likes the swing you already have. My mom swore by swings because I'd loved mine so much as a baby. My bf found her daughter hated them. I ended up with her pretty much new one as a result. My kid liked it. If your LO doesn't like it, there is no need to think about it further. If they do, decide then.

I'd return it, buy the same item off of amazon for $126 (free shipping), and use the store credit to buy some little things.

I love the swing.  I got it from amazon and it was delivered within a week.

i say keep it , I bet deep down you really wanted otherwise you would have took it off your registry ;-)

 

I know that's the one I want and would keep it, I went to a consignment sale the other day and they had it for 70.00 but I didn't have the cash but Ill be buying one next week.

I'd return it b/c after DS came I realized a whole bunch of things that I needed that I didn't know we would want.  I ended up spending a ton after he was born.

Omg I never even considered that... I guess I should keep it in the box at least for now. Good idea.

I would prefer the plug in swing (which is why I left mine on my registry after I found a great deal on the older battery model on craigslist).  I would keep it for now and make a decision later when you know how much she likes to swing.
