C-sections

c-section recovery belt

Going to have my second c-section in a couple months - this time with twins! I already have a toddler. I am wondering if anyone has an opinion on postpartum belts. Do they work? Do I need a special type after a csec? I don't want to waste the money on an expensive one if a more "normal" one will do fine, but hate to buy a general one and then not be able to wear it. Any opinions?

Just had twins, my OB ordered one for me and it was in my postpartum room.  I'd not buy one, mine worked just fine.  And it really helped...twins do a number on you.

  • I was given one in the hospital.  It velcroed around my waist and "held things in".  It was a lifesaver those first several days.

  • I didn't like they way it folded where my incision was when I'd sit down. Is this just me or the kind I got? Just had a RCS Saturday (emergency) and haven't bothered thinking about one, but am wondering if I just got the wrong kind/style last time?

  • The hospital always gave me an abdominal binder with each of my 3 c sections.  It helped at lot.  I usually took it off if I was going to be sitting for a while, but it's so helpful when moving around.
