Is anybody else suffering from what they call "mommy thumb"? I ignored the pain for a while b/c I didn't know what it is was, come to find out it's some weird tendinitis that mommys' get. I got a cortazone shot and am now in therapy for it and it still hurts like hell!! I have to wear this big ugly thumb splint damn near 24/7
Help!!!
Re: De Quervain's tendinitis
I've never heard of this one, sorry you are dealing with that. So what do us moms do that causes this specific injury?
Oh and I hope you are not 68 weeks pregnant
LOL I'm not!! I have to get rid of that.
Supposedly its from the way we pick up the baby, the extra pressure on a muscle we rarely used previously and the weight of the baby. DD was born at 5lbs but she has packed on the weight pretty quickly. I'm at a lost on what to do, the pain is just ridiculous.
Phew, that would have been one big baby
OH I can see how that could happen. Well that sucks! Hope you get fixed up soon! What do they do for it? I hope it's not like carpal tunnel that requires surgery... Good luck!
I did have some pretty intense pain a few days ago but it was in the middle of my hand, kind of like tendon pain but it went away the next day. that was no fun, can't imagine having it daily and having to pick up DD. My DD was born at 7lbs, so nothing big but quickly grew to be one round, plump baby.
