I have an original and have been using it non-stop for the past 2+ years and LOVE it. I was at REI & decided to play around with the other ergo types out of curiosity. Now I want a performance one! We're going on vacation to the beach next month and I heard you can use them in the water. DS is so warm and I wear him constantly while chasing after DD. But I don't know if we'll have any more babies and while money isn't a huge issue, I can't justify spending $135 on another ergo when I have a perfectly good one that appears to be the best type of ergo overall.
I'd love your thoughts... thanks!
Re: Talk me out of an ergo performance!
I just saw this on Facebook:
https://store.ergobaby.com/Hot_Deals/BCP32300
The green one is only $91.80 until 5pm PST. Less than an hour left!
I don't think I'd use the performance in water - it's still a bit heavy for that. The new Boba Air would work for that if you just want something super lightweight for water.
If I were investing in a new carrier, I'd probably either go with a toddler size buckle carrier for your older child or another type of carrier suitable for your newborn (like a ring sling or a mei tai or a woven wrap - all which can be much cooler than the Ergo).
