Hi, Ladies! Apologies if this is in the newbie link or if this has been asked before (I'm using DH's ancient laptop right now b/c DD used her toy battery-powered drill to "fix" our laptop and broke the power jack. Hahaa! Anyway, this comp is slow and crashing every 2 secs, so hard to do some lurking).
Here's my Q: I think I remember reading that women can get BFPs as early as 9 or 10 DPO, and as late as 18 DPO (negative tests up until then). Is 18 days post ovulation really the earliest some pregnant women can get a BFP?? And that's just normal? Do some women or pregnancies just have lower HCG? Makes me think those lower HCG/longer to register BFPs would be more risky pregnancies, no?
I'm asking b/c I'm on CD35 (not unusual for me, but 37 days is the longest I've gone in over a year). I have a ton of symptoms that can very well be phantom, but some that I only ever had while preggo with DD very early on, but as of yesterday afternoon, BFN. I'm considering testing again with FMU in the next few days if no AF, but I'm wondering if a BFN at CD34 is my answer. Oh and OPKs failed me this month (never got a reliable +), so no clue when or if I Oed, but DH and I BDed almost ED or EOD for a full two weeks, stopping on CD21.
Thanks!
Re: 18 DPO to get a BFP?
Are you confident of your ovulation date? Do you chart?
Edit: just saw that you are not sure. The only thing to do is wait it out I think. FX for your BFP!
LFAF Summer 2016 Awards:
If you can get to the newbie link, it shows the percentage of how accurate a test is past ovulation, the farther after ovulation, the more accurate it is. However, you are not out until AF shows, so keep testing once a week until you get AF, a BFP, or hit 60 days. You could just have ovulated later than you think, and are therefore having a longer cycle.
Good luck though!
It could be that you just O'ed later, making your period arrive later. This was in the newbie link, but until you get your period don't consider yourself out yet.
HPT accuracy DPO
10 dpo : 35%
11 dpo : 51%
12 dpo : 62%
13 dpo : 68%
14 dpo : 74%
15 dpo : 80%
16 dpo : 88%
17 dpo : 92%
18 dpo : 99%
FWIW, I've O'ed anywhere from CD 14-28. An off cycle can happen, GL to you.
I got my BFP with DS at 18dpo, but honestly, the only other test I took was 12dpo. When that one was negative, I assumed I was out. Then AF never came, so I finally tested again. Not sure how long it would have taken to show up, but definitely did not register at 12dpo.
My pregnancy was completely healthy, so for me, the fact that it took longer to register than some other BFPs did not mean a riskier pregnancy.
GL! I had an IUI 17 days ago and got a BFN on Day 14 and 16..still no period and I am in the same boat wondering if I could be pregnant. I also have had lots of symptoms but that could be due to the progesterone.
I hope you get a BFP!
Kind of with you too, but I usually dont' have long cycles, about 22dpo according to an OPK.
Wishing you luck !

That is my plan too, although at least since you don't really know when you ovulated it makes more sense for you. I got a +OPK 3 weeks ago, but I guess without temping, maybe it was a false one.
Just wish something would happen, BFP preferably
Hoping we both have good news at next testing!
