Would you take your one year old to the grocery store without pants? We ran into someone we know at the store and her daughter was wearing a top and a diaper. Of course, it's none of my business...but I'd go for a romper or shorts if it's hot. That's just me, though.
Just said good bye Sept. 19th (MMC at 12 weeks)
Re: No pants at grocery store
I wouldn't take my child out without pants on. Even a onesie is not enough for me - it has to either be a one piece outfit that is obviously shirt & pants or seperates. But that is just me.
Is it possible that maybe her daughter had a poop/pee accident and she didn't have extra clothes with her?
A onesie when he was a baby but never just a shirt.
He has gone shoeless frequently. He always kicks his shoes off in the car & sometimes it's just easier to not put them back on & just stick him in the cart.
ETA: I agree with PP that perhaps there was a spill or accident of some sort & no change of clothing.
I wouldn't, but perhaps she had a blow-out?
I don't judge too harshly though. It's not my style, but she's not naked and it's not cold outside, KWIM?
Not intentionally, but if my toddler spilled/had an accident and I was at the store without a change of clothes, yup, I'd still go in.
I'm sorry, but even if he did just have an accident, I don't need anything from the store bad enough to take my kid in wearing only a diaper.
No, I joked with her about losing her pants and the mom said it was too hot out to bother with pants. This morning was cold so my DD had a long sleeve shirt, jeans, socks, and shoes...lol
The only time DS would ever be out and about without pants on was when he was a baby, was wearing a onesie, and was going to spend most of the time in his infant seat. Otherwise he'd be wearing shorts.
Meh. I like babies even in more than a onesie after about 6ish months, but I can't say a shirt and diaper is judge worthy either.
Like pp said, who knows what happened on the way to the store.
I still bring an extra outfit with me in case, however if I was out and didn't have any thing else for her to wear, then I might. It depends on how important the stuff I needed was.
Besides, I learned some time ago that I need to stop saying "I would never..."
I still have to wear pants when it's hot so the kid does too.
I wouldnt get all judgey over it either.
I would at that age in a pinch. We cloth diaper if that makes any difference.
ETA: By in a pinch I mean not on purpose. If we had a blow out and no change of clothes and I really needed something from the store I would. But we live a half an hour drive from the nearest grocery store, so it would be a PITA to drive an extra hour over not having a spare pair of pants.
I also usually wear him in a carrier, so I think it wouldn't be too obvious if he wasn't wearing shorts since you cannot see above his knees once he's on my back.
All of this!

I have. My car was at the shop and wasn't ready so I called my mom last minute to pick me up from work. She watches DD. To thank my mom we went to Chipotle for lunch. My mom didn't know I would be doing that and since I called her last minute, she hadn't put any pants on DD.
Her shirt matched her cloth diaper if that makes it any better.
Intentionally taking your kid out with no pants on is kind of weird. It's not like a pair of cotton shorts are going to make you substantially cooler.
Siggy check.
No
Yesterday I saw two little ones at the park wearing just onesies, no socks or shoes of any kind. Not sure how old but they could both walk - I would guess between 10 months and a year.
I thought it was odd - I don't think I ever took DD in public in just a onesie and it wasn't super hot out - like mid-70s and not humid. And for the no shoes - I know barefoot is technically better - but that park isn't super clean and not the best place to go barefoot.

Lol
Doing it just because? I wouldn't...
But meh.. At least it wasn't cold outside.
