We were at the beach last week, stuck to his sleep and eating schedule. But today he has to go back to his old day care (we pulled him out for the summer) for 4 days this week, 3 next week and 1 day the week after. Starting Sept. 10th he begins preschool.
He already has sleep "issues" should I just be prepared for hell? Should I "give in" or make additional accommodations until preschool starts then work on getting his sleep back on track? The schedule between pre-school and day care is also different as is the the way they are taught. I'm just thinking this is going to be a LOT for him over the next month.
Re: How hellish is my next month going to be?
How different are pre-k and dc hours? If they are similar, I'd definitely bite the bullet now and switch him to the preschool hours so he has a month to adjust. I'd rather my kids be cranky, off and adjusting in daycare which he's leaving than preschool.
I would not worry about how things are handled during the day - you have no control over that and if the only things that are different are the time of nap and eating, I would not worry about - he will adjust. I would work hard to keep bedtime and wake-up routines and all the other at home routines as consistent as you can as that will help. I have always found with my kids that regardless of what happens at school - if the home routine is good, we are good.
